Click for Gallery This vehicle is a copy of a vehicle Keillor Coachbuilders Ltd. supplied to Dorset County council in 2007.

The cab area has been closed off from the working area by a sliding door to keep the vehicle warm and safe. Standard Keillor shelving and spinners were fitted along with a cash till, fold down operator seat at the counter and seating at the rear for customers to view books. A PLS safety gate was installed at the main entrance within the vehicle.

This vehicle has had a tracking device fitted so that base can log location if required in an emergency.

Within the roof Two Vent Axia Meteor roof mounted fans are installed on two of the roof lights for additional ventilation.

  Dorset Council Shools Vehicle (Dec, 2008)

 
 

Click for Gallery Dorset Council required a vehicle to service the schools within the eastern side of the county. Based on a shortened DAF 45.160 with a wheelbase of 4650mm .

This vehicle was equipped with 6 large solar panels and these were cabled into the internal battery system to help with maintaining a charge whilst out on the road or stationary.

The cab has been converted to the Keillor Coachbuilders Ltd. widened cab specification. Heating is via two Eberspacher D5L warm air units to warm the vehicle up very quickly. Battery power has been designed with four 270-amp hour batteries.

Within the roof Two Vent Axia Meteor roof mounted fans are installed on two of the roof lights for additional ventilation.

The base Vehicle was a Iveco Eurocargo 75E18S. One Eberspacher D5 heater has been installed along with 6 Maintenance free 270amp hour batteries on a slide out shelf.

A Radcliffe 3 step entry system has been installed for Wheelchair access if required.

The cleaver use of fixed and mobile trolley shelving gives this vehicle the flexibility needed on its busy schedule between old peoples homes, schools and as a main library.

Graphics were bright on a plain white background to make them stand out. A colour scheme of white and a wine gives the vehicle homely warmth.

  Tower Hamlets (Oct, 2008)

 
 

Click for Gallery Tower Hamlets have taken delivery of their new Mobile Library. This Vehicle was a refit to a mobile Library from it's previous use by Essex County Council Library.

Existing Toilet and Spinner units were removed a new counter unit was installed. Battery packs were upgraded to the latest specifications.

Tower Hamlets were the first customers to make use of the Keillor mobile trolley system to aid book presentation to their clientele. The Vehicle Schedule includes residential homes as well as schools and this system helps considerable the staff of the vehicle as stock can be adjusted easily and without risk prior to departure on route in the morning.

Hard wearing vinyl-flooring helps to keep the vehicle clean when these are used especially during the winter months within the east London area. Spinner units and Pamphlet holders were installed to aid customers when they were within the vehicle confines.

Keillor Coachbuilders Ltd have won a contract with Aberdeenshire to supply a vehicle a year proving the customers satisfaction with the build quality.

The Base Vehicle supplied by the council was an Iveco Eurocargo 75E16. One Eberspacher D5 heater has been installed along with 4 Maintenance free 270amp hour batteries on a slide out shelf. A Radcliffe 3 step entry system has been installed for Wheelchair access if required. Two roof vents with Vent-axia fans are installed for ventilation.

Shelving is the Keillor ShelFit range in bright red and yellow.

Carpet tiles from the flotex range are installed to customer specifications.

The Satellite disc gives quick and efficient internet connection, allowing the vehicle to be used by other departments with in the county.

This multi purpose library has a one to one interview room as a extension to the open airy cab, also doubling as a staff private area with all the home comforts such as fridge, microwave and sound system.

The rear corner has a fully fitted toilet cubical for the long journeys round the county.

The ShelFit shelving system and the internal bright colour lay out gives a very inviting environment for the users of all ages.

This vehicle has air suspension and the D6B180 6 Litre engine with a 6 speed gear box.

The library has a over length of 10.2 meters and width of 2.5 meters.

The library Bodywork incorporates our Volvo cab conversion with easy walk through from library to cab area, retaining all the standard Volvo parts for ease in replacement.

The interior has a sticking colour mix matching the external livery with the shelves colours and graphics.

The Satellite disc provides the internet connection and with wireless operation this vehicle can act as a receiver centre for other locations, ideal for OutReach Learning.

On board is a shared network with removal work station quickly changing the vehicle from a library to a training centre.

The ShelFit shelving system is used to its full extent with examples of the whole range in operation.

This vehicle with be a great assett to their existing fleet and will certainly catch the attention of the general public on its rounds.

Cambridge County Council


Mobile library based on the Leyland DAF FA LF45 series, 11tonne GVW, with extended wheelbase to give external dimensions of 11mt x 2.5mt wide and an internal height of 2.3m.

This library features the Keillor ShelFit shelving system with an attractive children’s area screened with triple spinner units.

Power supply to each shelf bay along with net cabling to provide a local area network for future use.

Suffolk easy entrance with Ratcliff 2-step lift and winding stair. Toilet unit provided for staff at entrance, also dual display door at top of stair.

Coventry City Council Mobile Library


This attractive mobile library is based on the Mercedes Benz Atego 12 tonne chassis with vehicle dimensions of 9m long, 2.5m wide and a working inside height of 2.2m.

The library has eight carbon fibre deep-cycle monobloc batteries of 270ah capacity, two 100amp battery chargers and one 5kW inverter.

The facility to operate IT workstation at each shelf bay with LAN provided.

This vehicle can be multi-functional with the use of our ShelFit shelving system. It also supports an attractive children's area, colour coded with wall graphics.

External graphics give a complete wrap around effect and adds to the attraction of the mobile

The South Dublin Library

One example of five mobile libraries supplied to Dublin last year, the City of Dublin having a special purpose mobile with IT training with Internet access.

The Irish libraries are based on the Atego chassis 12 tonne G.V.W. with wheelchair access and a book capacity of 4,000.

All libraries are supplied through Motor Distributors, the Mercedes importers in Dublin.

This library is multi purpose, providing a traditional library service three days a week and IT training the remainder of the week.

The internal design allows quick assembly of Keillor workstations that fit into the 900 standard shelf bays.

Click for GalleryThis mobile library is based on the Iveco Daily Panel Van Model 50C15 with 3950mm wheel base.

This compact mobile was chosen to serve the elderly as will as acting as a back up to the larger 7.5 tonne Library.

The Public entrance with automatic low step was purposely positoned and designed to blend with the side panel, giving a stream line appearance to this standard van.

The standard rear door, with Ratcliff under floor cassette lift gives wheel chair access and assist in book box loading.

The interior lay out maximises the shelf space and internal standing room with our stepped side wall bar arrangement.

The counter unit has a interesting feature of a sliding top to provide extra working space when required and extra standing space when in the retracted location, the tip up seat is on a sliding frame again to give greater flexibility.

The External livery is a copy of the large big brother mobile and has the same impact

The design was created from many meetings with the library service and our design department, with features like the island counter unit which works very well in their operation.

Major investment in the internet satellite connection providing a very fast onboard service for the children.

The external livery was designed by our graphic design section from a brief supplied by the library service, the end result being a stunning splash of colour and text that catches the eye every day of the week.

The mobile has Internet connection through the roof mounted Satellite receiver discs, providing connection to cavity mounted fold out workstations which are hidden behind the shelves when not in use.

The vehicle is fitted with a Local Area Network and mains power through, this will allow the mobile to be used as an information centre or a teaching unit.

The ShelFit shelving system has been incorporated with the full range of shelves being used giving complete flexibility within the library.

Hertfordshire County Council

A fleet of five new Mercedes Benz 7.5 tonne new generation mobile libraries have been delivered all with the new look Keillor Coach front end incorporating the standard Mercedes doors and easy entry step arrangement to the cab.

The traditional timber shelving used by Hertfordshire for many years has been dropped for the new Keillor ShelFit system which is now to be a standard fit on all their mobiles.

The special needs library and the school library both have the newly introduced Keillor ShelFit Trolley unit which will be officially launched at the next mobile meet in May 2006.

The new external livery is a creation by our design team in conjunction with Hertfordshire Library manager.

Cumbria County Council

This school’s library is based on the Fiat Ducato 18MBW chassis cab with 3.5tonne GVW. This vehicle has received the Al-Ko chassis replacement incorporating the low-slung tandem axle conversion and upgrading to 4.5tonne GVW.

Vehicle overall length 7.6mt, width 2.3mt. The Keillor mobile library bodywork and internal fitting all in lightweight alloy, featuring our ShelFit system giving a book load of 800kg.

The internal and external livery is part of the Keillor package, which has been well received by the children.

N.E.E.L.B.

North Eastern Education and Library Board of Ballymena have received an additional three Mercedes Benz Vario and one DAF libraries, all 7.5 tonne vehicles, to add to the three DAF units we supplied last year. This brings their fleet of libraries right up to date.

All the libraries have a Local Area Network on board, with ShelFit removable workstations and one fixed workstation. The libraries provide learning facilities as well as the lending service for young and old alike.

The new Keillor ShelFit shelving system is added to all vehicles.

Capsule unit at front end opens out to expose computer terminal and staff area with children's IT workstation adjoining.

Keillor shelving, kinder boxes, display board and removable workstation all included to provide a multi function library.

The children think it's tremendous!

Based on the DAF LF 45 7.5 tonne chassis with the New Keillor Front incorporating the driver and passenger doors.


A fleet of three provided with additional three in build for delivery in February 2004

Fleet of four mobile libraries based on the Mercedes Atego and the Iveco Cargo.


Original design to the interior with fixed IT station, shaped counter unit and kitchen facility. Additional workstation incorporated in library with L.A.N. provided.



Libraries to be used for public IT training and awareness along with traditional library service.

Serving the Inner London area the vehicle has many features on board such as TV/Video overhead presentation, fixed and removable IT workstations, display board and external awning to name a few.
